Is it me, or has the intellectual hub of Los Angeles migrated east?
There's an unsettling (or settling) pattern of cultural, artistic, literary and pop occurences happening on the east side of town. It seems like everywhere an Angelino turns - NPR, the LA Times, Los Angeles Magazine, the LA Weekly, even KCRW - the point of reference is moving east to Silver Lake and Echo Park...
Los Angeles magazine - in it's current issue - has taken notice of the Silver Lake Jesus beard... (see specimen #1).
Is the east side musing while the west side is working out?
Nothing empirical yet, but it's the beginning of a theory.
As always, examining all things Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Hollywood and all their neighboring Hills - and occasionally even the west side and real estate...
